Dodd joins Expedite at board-level. He led the team that developed the model for Tesco's International Store Operation that was key to the retailer's expansion into Asia, Central Europe and the US. He takes the role of grocery practice director.
Maton was responsible for store IT strategy and the interface between business users and IT at Somerfield. He has more than 20 years' experience developing systems in the retail sector and was closely involved in Somerfield's three-year £70m investment in upgrading Epos and other store systems from 2001 to 2003, following the acquisition of Kwik Save.
The two appointments buck the trend highlighted by a recent poll held at silicon.com's CIO Forum, which found that taking a position with a supplier was the least favourite option for high-level IT executives when considering their next career move.
