Online sales reached £7.7m for the quarter, a year-on-year increase of 60.4 per cent. The channel generates 15 per cent of delivered sales in the UK, up from 12.4 per cent in 2006 and a 0.1 percentage point gain on the previous quarter.
Speaking to silicon.com, Domino's IT director Jane Kimberlin said: "We think ordering pizza online fits well with our customers' lifestyles. It's quicker for them than picking up the phone, especially if they are online already."
Domino's in the UK has also announced a board reshuffle which places deputy chief executive Chris Moore as CEO. Kimberlin, who reports to Moore already, will continue to do so - indicating she said, the increased importance the chain places on its IT function.
