In his latest video blog, Peter Cochrane reports from a hospital bed where he's coming to terms with a fundamental truth about digital faults. He sees his present predicament as proof that an insignificant problem can eventually bring down the whole system.

I note with amusement that Peter seems to have persuaded his hospital to let him use "hi tech" in a ward when they are usually busily trying to prevent people doing so on the spurious argument that its presence might interfere with their sensitive equipment!
Glad you have survived this "digital" problem Peter!

Good to see you're recovering and managing to communicate even from the hospital bed! Best wishes and get well soon.

First 'Topless' blog??
Peter - in spite of your troubles you are looking very well. Another friend of mine had a very similar experience. Get well soon!

Usually you tell us how the blog was updated/transmitted, I assume you didn't find an open WiFi access point in the hospital?
Get well soon. - At least you're not a one-fingered typist.

Hope you're not in there too long Peter.
Perhaps we can look forward to a piece on the workings of the NHS in future after your "undercover" experiences !

Not for the first time a bit of "finger trouble" nearly brings down the system.
On a serious note, I have sympathy, I've never a splinter go really badly wrong, but have had a few get lost and very deep, carry infection, and take a long time to heal - a lesson that a minor flaw deeply embedded might get covered up but hasn't gone away!
Hope you're better now!

Peter firstly I hope you get well soon.
However I am not sure that blogs from the hospital bed side is an appropriate corporate culture that should be encouraged. Surely your top priority should be to get well and Silicon should be 'encouraging' you to do this. We hear a lot on Risk Management of IT, well I believe people should be places above the IT!
