The commute just got easier

The device's engine, seen here, may be sophisticated but it is not the only jet pack in town. Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana in Cuernavaca, Mexico produces a hydrogen peroxide powered rocket belt capable of 20-second flights.

And Jet Pack International, based in Denver, produces a pack that runs on jet fuel and can stay in the air for nine minutes on its five-gallon tank.

Although these devices can be operated by a pilot without a licence in the US, they can not be used over built-up areas.

    americans get to make some fun devices in their garages don't they

    try anything like that over here and the anti terrorism squad would be kicking down your front door demanding to know why you needed a couple of ducted fans, closely followed by the aviation authorities

    I can see the armed forces being very interested in it
