The National Geographic Society opened its flagship store on London's Regent Street last week in time for the switching on of the Christmas lights, celebrating the society's 120 years of bringing the remotest parts of the Earth to the Western world's coffee table.

Three floors of 20,000 square feet of retail space have been fitted out to stimulate the shoppers' senses as well as their desire to purchase, thanks to tech from Sony Professional Services and its partners.

National Geographic has a number of stores across the world but this is the first to feature a number of technological enhancements. The next store in this format will be opened in Singapore.
