The Manchester United team will soon be able to check the latest match results on their way to games, thanks to a new wi-fi installation on their team coaches.
Wireless provider Icomera has installed wi-fi connectivity on team buses used by the likes of Manchester United and Wigan Athletic.
The vehicles, owned by Eavesway Travel, will come kitted out with their own cellular broadband gateway, which will allow coach drivers to send operational information such as schedules and itinerary amendments to the company, as well as giving footballers wireless web access.
The Icomera set-up uses mobile broadband from Vodafone, which promises a theoretical maximum downlink of 7.2Mbps.
The system is already installed on school buses, coaches to Heathrow and GNER trains.
