This is the Espresso Book Machine at the Blackwell bookshop on London's bibliophile mecca, Charing Cross Road.

The Espresso on-demand print service, which has been available to customers since the end of April, publishes out-of-print books in a matter of minutes while customers wait.

silicon.com reporter Tim Ferguson went along to see it in action.
