SFO gets new CIO

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has hired itself a new CIO from the ranks of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Josh Ellis, a former regional director of forensic services at the consultancy, is now heading up the SFO's IT department as well as its digital forensics unit, the division tasked with evidence seizure and analysis to support the SFO in its fraud-busting activities.

Before taking up the role, Ellis worked for PwC for four years and also has experience in telecommunications, banking, manufacturing and the automotive industry.

SFO's director, Richard Alderman, said in a statement: "Josh comes to us with the experience necessary to further enhance our investigative systems. We believe having the ability to interrogate the high volumes of electronic evidence captured from fraudsters is vital in the SFO's continuing fight against serious fraud. I am delighted he has decided to join us."
