Xerox kit installed at Standford Hill Prison

By Sylvia Carr, 9 March 2006 11:30

This is a sample of the types of brochures and pamphlets produced at the new digital print centre at the Standford Hill Prison on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

At the centre, prisoners will be trained in digital printing to enable them to seek gainful employment once they're released and hopefully prevent reoffending.

Most of the centre's work will be for the HM Prison Service, though it's possible other government departments or outside businesses will contract work with it as well.

Free IT training, wall climbing facilities(ask yourself - is this a wise choice?) and a swimming pool too - no wonder the place is full!
