The Department of Health (DoH) confirmed Swindells - who has been working for the department for three and a half years - is moving out of the public sector to work for Tribal Group, a consultancy to the public sector.
The department is currently in the process of recruiting a director-general-level CIO to act as a full time replacement for Granger.
The new recruit will lead development and delivery of the overall tech strategy for both the health and social care systems.

Lets hope that we get someone with the respect of the market, who understands the sensitivity and the complexity of the domain and who can balance professionalism with humanity!
