The Cabinet Office has named Angela Smith as responsible for government IT and information security.
According to the list of ministerial responsibilities released this week, Smith's will include responsibility for the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, Information Security and Assurance.

Previously, Smith was parliamentary private secretary to Yvette Cooper at Communities and Local Government and the Treasury.

could somebody tell me what, if any IT qualifications she holds, the article doesn't mention any and I'm unable to find any on line

from the resounding silence I guess she hasn't got any IT qualifications
but that's all right, after all they wouldn't put someone who wasn't capable or didn't have any knowledge of the IT industry in charge, ministers and politicians are experts in every field aren't they
the have more medical knowledge than doctors, more programming skills than your best analyst programmers, more business acumen than all the fortune 500 CEO's put together, they can even tell you the best fertilizer for your tomatoes, they are truly gods among us mere mortals
they obviously know best and we are fools to question them......gibber....drool......hehehehehehe....twitch....
