NB: NHS IT refresh 'a failure'

The head of the public spending watchdog has spoken out about the failures of the NHS' National Programme for IT - one of the world's biggest IT projects, which is costing a colossal £6.2bn and is not due to be completed until 2010. The Guardian quotes Sir John Bourn as saying the project has failed to capture the "hearts and minds" of NHS staff and has in fact become a "focus of dissension". More here.
