UK communications regulator Ofcom is set to spend £25m replacing its IT legacy systems.
IT services firm Capgemini UK has been selected for the job, which will include supporting the watchdog's infrastructure for five years from next February.
Ofcom CTO Peter Ingram said in a statement: "When Ofcom began operations two years ago, we chose not to seek to integrate the many differing legacy IT systems inherited from our predecessors until we had fully identified the organisation's long-term future needs.
"Establishing common systems for all of our critical functions will lead to an improvement in the quality of the services we deliver to stakeholders."
Capgemini will also replace 50 applications, implementing customer relationship management (CRM) systems from Siebel and financial and HR applications from SAP.
Capgemini said it would be the prime contractor for these projects.
