Accenture, BT Global Services, IBM and LogicaCMG have all been shortlisted for a contract to provide IT systems for the London Organising Committee (Locog) for the 2012 Olympic Games.
A value has not yet been put on the contract but earlier this year Locog said it expects to spend £204m on IT systems, £63m on telecoms and £12.5m on internet applications for the 2012 Olympics in London.
The contract covers the internal back-office technology systems for Locog, which wants to have a single repository of recorded information relating to the preparation, delivery and legacy of the London Olympic Games. The IT system will be the foundation for all the planning work for the key functional areas, including the workforce and transport.
A preferred supplier will be selected next month with a formal appointment made in November 2006.

The technology to be used during the 2012 Olympic Games at the sporting venues will be run by Atos Origin, which has been responsible for the design, build and operation of the IT infrastructure for all the summer and winter Olympic Games since 2001.
