Few could have begrudged Brent Hoberman quietly idling off into a life of leisure in 2005 after pocketing £26m from the sale of lastminute.com, the company he co-founded with Martha Lane Fox.

Instead he stayed on as CEO and then chairman and chief strategic officer of the online travel company before stepping down at the end of 2006.

Since then he's been the man behind many agenda-setting ideas coming to fruition on internet - whether working as executive, founder or investor. It's this influence which earns him an Agenda Setters nod.

Still only 39, Hoberman's latest big thing is mydeco.com, a start-up he founded in 2007 which aims to do for DIY and furniture what he did for holidays with lastminute.com.

He's also backed ventures from house-moving website moveme.com, to online ticket exchange viagogo.com and social networking website wayn.com.

Certainly someone to know if you want to get that big idea off the ground.
