Bruce Schneier returns to the Agenda Setters list thanks to his unmistakable clout in the security world.

Well known for past achievements such as designing the popular Blowfish and Twofish encryption algorithms, he tackles in his latest book Beyond Fear the thorny problem of security from the small to the large - including personal safety, crime corporate security and national security.

Described as "immensely influential in the field" and as the "primary thinker, speaker and writer on security and privacy issues" by the Agenda Setters' judges, the reach of his blog continues to grow and his monthly newsletter now has more than 150,000 readers.

His advice is sought far and wide and he has testified on security before the United Security Congress on several occasions.

In an age where security can make or break a product, or an organisation, Schneier stands out as the individual who cuts through the hype to get to the heart of the security stories that make the news.
