Christina Domecq is CEO of SpinVox, a company that prides itself on doing one thing but doing it well: converting voicemails to text.

Launched in 2005, SpinVox can claim to have beaten Apple to the punch by several years, even if the latter's visual voicemail system for iPhone also offers the ability to manage voicemails without listening to them.

Converting speech to text gives SpinVox another string to its bow - it enables voicemails to become blog posts, neatly tapping into today's social networking and microblogging trends. Text is a key currency in an internet age - and offering the ability to create written words without having to touch a keyboard speaks to convenience lovers and mobile users everywhere.

As one Agenda Setters panellist put it, SpinVox's twist is a system that "works surprisingly well" - and has an unexpected number of applications.

Domecq, who came up with the idea and secured considerable backing for her company, is just the sort of young, energetic entrepreneur from whom we can expect more agenda setting in future.
