'Being green' has become a major focus in the IT industry - and that's due in part to environmental activists such as Jonathon Porritt who have raised awareness of carbon footprint and energy usage within businesses.

A writer, broadcaster and commentator, Porritt has been at the forefront of the green movement for decades. He is now pushing forward the eco-agenda as programme director of the sustainable development charity he co-founded, the Forum for the Future.

The Forum for the Future shows organisations what a sustainable future could look like. This includes encouraging practical solutions such as teleworking, training leaders to bring about change and communicating success stories.

Described by an Agenda Setters judge as a "beacon for the sensible and intelligent green movement", Porritt - a former director of Friends of the Earth and co-chair of the Green Party - is setting the 'green' agenda in the IT industry and beyond.
