No. 49 Kevin Rose, founder and chief architect, Digg
Last year's position: Not placed
Why? Shaking up online news
Kevin Rose, a 29-year-old Las Vegas native who cut his teeth in Silicon Valley, is the brains behind Digg, a wholly democratic news aggregator which lets users post stories from the wider web and allows other users to recommend - or 'digg' - them.
Rose sneaks on the list for creating an innovative take on news publishing that the big online players are rushing to emulate.
Digg is backed by some of the biggest names in IT, with $2.8m in funding from Omidyar Network, an investment company set up by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and Netscape founder Marc Andreessen.
Having already graced the cover of Business Week, Rose is an internet wunderkind who's unlikely to stop there.
