No. 21 James Murdoch, CEO, BSkyB
Last year's position: Not placed
Why? Transforming Sky into a telecoms player
James Murdoch is back on the Agenda Setters list, after an absence in 2005, due to a couple of smart moves that have turned Sky from 'the pay TV provider' to 'the telecoms provider'.
Under his stewardship, the broadcaster got involved with P2P movie downloads and mobile TV but it's the purchase of ISP Easynet that really turned heads.
Since then, Murdoch has presided over the launch of Sky into the intensely competitive broadband market, dishing out free access to TV subscribers. With a strong brand and a strong direction, you can bet the big boys are worried.
As one Agenda Setters panellist said: "He's got all these big giants like BT and everyone lined up and he's probably going to slaughter them again."
Take a walk down memory lane - and find out who made the Agenda Setters poll over the years:
"Ray Ozzie is a radical change force for Microsoft. He is moving them in a very different direction."
--Richard Sykes, Agenda Setters panellist
"My observation is that [kids today] are far more networked and open than any other generation we have ever seen."
--Peter Cochrane, Agenda Setters panellist
