No. 23 Larry Page and Serge Brin, co-founders, Google

Last year's position: 12

Why? Search engine genius

Larry Page and Serge Brin might have founded Google but in the minds of the Agenda Setters panel it's Eric Schmidt who's more important to the company, which continues to shake up the established order in the IT industry.

Last year Schmidt made pole position while Page and Brin only made 12th. And while this year Schmidt has dropped to third, they've fallen even further.

But that still means the Google creators hold more sway in the tech industry than most. They continue to play an active role at Google - Brin is the company's president of technology and Page is president of products.

It's no secret they made a killing in the Google IPO but the Agenda Setters panel believes they won't just sit around counting their money.

The Stanford grads who created the world's most popular search engine still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
