Who voted on the CIO50?

CIO50 2008: Meet the judging panel...

The silicon.com CIO50 2008 list was compiled using the votes of 25 CIOs and an expert judging panel. Votes were based on a CIO's leadership ability, delivery and execution record, innovation and influence.

The members of the expert CIO50 2008 judging panel were:

Peter Breen, partner, Heidrick & Struggles
Peter Breen is a partner in the London office of executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles. Over the past 20 years he has been responsible for some of the most high-profile executive search assignments in the technology sector, working with organisations ranging from pre-revenue start-ups to multibillion dollar industry leaders.

Cathy Holley, partner, Boyden Global Executive Search
Cathy Holley is a partner with executive search company Boyden, focusing on placing CIOs and senior IT executives across a broad range of sectors. Holley started her career in technical support at IBM, moving on to senior sales and marketing roles in the retail banking sector. After seven years at IBM she joined the investment banking sector team at Oracle.

Simon La Fosse, MD, La Fosse Associates
Simon La Fosse has worked in technology executive search for the last 20 years. He previously worked as a director at Harvey Nash and played a key role in growing the business and taking it public. He latterly founded La Fosse Associates and has grown it in a relatively short period of time to become a recognised market leader in the recruitment of CIOs and their leadership teams.

Andy McCue, deputy editor, silicon.com
Andy McCue has almost a decade of experience writing about business and technology and has worked at silicon.com for five years, helping the publication win two awards for its editorial coverage and campaigns. McCue is responsible for setting the news agenda for silicon.com and managing the team of reporters, as well as developing the publication's CIO coverage and building close relationships with that community.

Vicky Maxwell Davies, partner, Boyden Global Executive Search
Vicky Maxwell Davies is a partner with Boyden UK, focusing on placing CIOs and their top teams across a broad range of sectors. In 2002, as one of the three original partners, Maxwell Davies founded Ellis Holley Maxwell, which, after the acquisition of the Boyden UK business later that year, was renamed Boyden UK Ltd. Her earlier career includes spells at Norman Broadbent International and Whitehead Mann's CIO practice, as well as 10 years at IBM in sales, IT consultancy and marketing.

Weymouth spent nearly 30 years at Barclays Bank, including five years as group CIO and a member of the Group Executive Committee, and two years as COO and deputy CEO of Corporate Banking. Since 2005, he has been an independent board consultant, advising on design and implementation of IT, operations and procurement.
