Christopher Martin, who joined travel price comparison site cheapflights.co.uk in January 2007, has been leading a big investment programme to upgrade the company's back-end technology, along with the redesign and relaunch of its Canadian, UK and US websites.

The new technology backbone means customers will have unprecedented access to flight details and other travel related info but it is also the foundation for further international expansion of the growing company.

Martin has worked with consumer facing tech for more than 20 years and has previously been CTO at ebuyer.com, led production and development at AskJeeves.com as well as a number of software roles at IBM.

His interest in tech has been longstanding, as shown by the BSc in Computer Science he gained while studying at Brunel University.
