Bernhard Brouwer is CIO for the Johnson & Johnson consumer group in the EMEA region. He took the reins as IT chief in 1999 when he moved to the UK from continental Europe.

Turnover at the consumer business has grown from $1bn to $5bn during his tenure - with significant growth driven by the 2007 acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Health. A key achievement for Brouwer has been the swift integration of Pfizer - with all countries in EMEA assimilated within a year.

Brouwer can also take credit for a successful SAP implementation, covering all major business processes in the region.

The Dutch national started his IT career with Philips Electronics working in the Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium, before joining Atos Origin following the merger with Philips IT group. From there he moved to Johnson & Johnson's medical device group before joining the consumer group as CIO.

Brouwer has a Master of Science degree in Econometrics from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoor life, including mountain climbing and sailing.
