Martin Taylor CIO50 2009

Martin Taylor was named group CIO of LCH.Clearnet in January 2007, having joined the company six months earlier as interim CIO.

LCH is an independent central counterparty group that serves major financial exchanges and markets.

During his 30-plus years in IT, Taylor has held CIO posts at textiles giant Courtaulds, Cable & Wireless and EMI Music. Career highlights include leading EMI through the year 2000 and the advent of digital downloads, and from 2003-2006 restructuring Cable & Wireless' IT into two cost-effective, independent divisions.

Taylor started off at British Airways in 1976 and spent a decade at Mars in the 1980s, including a year modernising manufacturing plants in the US. Taylor is an arts graduate with a masters degree in English Literature, and in his spare time he is a keen sailor.
