Tania Howarth CIO50 2009

Tania Howarth has been CIO for frozen food business Birds Eye Iglo since 2007 when it was spun off from Unilever.

Her initial task was to set up independent IT infrastructure and a set of business processes for the newly divested company, as well as form a new IT organisation.

Since the completion of this project, Howarth has also taken on the role of group HR director so as to have a broader business transformation leadership role.

Before Birds Eye Iglo, Howarth was CIO for Coca-Cola in Europe and Africa between 2003 and 2007. She worked at Walkers before that, spending her final five years there as CIO.

Before that, she worked on various business projects and IT management roles for ICI and Sun Microsystems, as well as spending time with PricewaterhouseCoopers as an accountant.

She has a BSc in European Politics, Economics and Languages from Manchester University.
