Tony Godwin CIO50 2009

Tony Godwin joined Home Retail Group in early 2009. He is in charge of all IT infrastructure and services, including leading a 160-person internal team and managing multiple third-party contracts.

He is currently overseeing the set-up of a new datacentre and a change programme to improve cost effectiveness and streamline processes.

Prior to joining Home Retail Group, Godwin spent the majority of his career at retailer Woolworths, where he served for nine years as IT director. At Woolworths he managed a budget of up to £40m and a team of 200 employees while delivering award-winning retail automation projects.

He held responsibility for all the IT systems, infrastructure and associated services across Woolworths, and sat on the eight-person executive board that determined strategy, investments and budgets for the company.
