Digital Blunders 2: These can't be true...
Can they...?

By Will Sturgeon

Published: Tuesday 16 September 2003

While we've been running our Digital Blunders feature over the past month we've been inundated with your email howlers, voicemail gaffes and text message nightmares.

And by and large we've taken you at your word. While some of your peers have accused us repeatedly of making up your confessions (we're flattered you think we could be this creative) we've been prepared to believe you really are so clumsy with your use of technology.

But even we were stopped in our tracks by these two confessions which arrived yesterday. These just couldn't possibly be true... could they?

New Camcorder...
"I bought a DV camcorder, and as most people do, the wife and I filmed one of our sex sessions. Like a dummy, I also filmed our daughter's birthday party on the same video. Instead of reviewing the video, and because of time constraints, I did a broadcast to the grandparents, who were not able to attend. My mother calls crying with laughter, and asked where we learned that position. I think my partner's parents are still in shock."

We're keeping this reader's name out of it but come on Mr X, really: "...and as most people do, the wife and I filmed one of our sex sessions."

Perhaps where you come from they do. I think the reaction of your mother, asking where you "learned that position" suggests you and your missus may not be like "most people".

And then we got this from a US reader, on a similar theme:

Labor Day...
"As I was emailing pictures of a picnic around Labor day this year, I sent out a nude picture of my wife. Haven't received any comments as of this date."

First, sorry to hear that you received no feedback, good or bad, but again this got the sceptics in the office wondering whether we were having our legs pulled. How could this possibly happen?

If these are true then we salute your willingness to confess and apologise for ever doubting you. (Though we think the apologies should really be made to your wives).
