LogicaCMG has won an £8m deal with the London Borough of Barnet to replace a number of the council's ageing legacy systems with an SAP-based platform.
The new enterprise system is part of a wider 'Modernising Core Processes' transformation programme at Barnet.
The new LogicaCMG system will be built on the mySAP suite and will support key back-office processes including finance, procurement, asset management, HR and payroll.
The council aims to make increased cost savings through using more effective methods of procurement. Around 90 per cent of purchases will go through the SAP system, automating many tasks and providing better tracking and economies of scale.
Barnet councillor and cabinet member Mike Freer said the deal is one of the biggest projects the council has ever undertaken.
"It is a further step towards modernising Barnet council and making it a business-like borough that manages its resources efficiently and effectively, enabling it to provide excellent services to local people," he said in a statement.
