Most of us in IT - whether on the technical or business side - have at least one humdinger to tell about a project or programme that either went down in flames or exceeded all expectations.

As part of our ongoing programme management special report, we've heard advice from CIOs on when to ditch problematic IT projects and when to carry on despite difficulties.

Now we want to hear your horror stories and successes. Email them to us at editorial@silicon.com with as much detail as you care to reveal.

Tell us what the project or programme involved, what went right or wrong, how you reacted, who was responsible for what - tell us all the juicy details. We'd also like to hear any insight you have about why it failed or was a success - or how you would do things differently, knowing what you know now.

We don't mind if it was a small-scale project involving just a few people or a widespread programme affecting the entire enterprise.

We don't mind if your role was technical or business-oriented, whether you're a hands-on IT pro or in upper management.

Just send your stories to editorial@silicon.com.

The best stories will be featured in future silicon.com articles, so be mindful of naming names. The point is to share situations and let others gain a valuable insight.
