Remembering what the kids got up to on the beach last summer will be a doddle with this nifty, ruggedised bit of kit that's built to withstand the rigors of sand and surf.
The Panasonic SDR-SW20 can be used underwater up to a 1.5-metre maximum depth - so good enough for swimming and snorkelling. It's also shockproof so you can give it to the kids and not be afraid of them dropping it off a cliff - provided it's a very small one, i.e. up to 1.2 metres.
Expect footage quality to be cheerful, rather than crystal clear. But at least you won't be worrying about sand in the lens.
