Using flying time to catch up on reading rather than laptop work takes a lot of stress out of the experience. It's a more efficient use of time - reading can carry you seamlessly through from departure lounge to plane and off again at the other end, whereas laptop work means constant interruption to boot up and down for boarding, takeoff, landing and meals, fooling around with batteries and inflight power and so forth. It means taking carrying less weight around the airport - even if you carry your laptop (still a good idea) you can dispense with power leads and peripherals. It's a better way to use the limited available space. And its a great opportunity to read all those documents, journals and industry pieces that you never have time for in the office and maybe develop some new ideas.
