30-year weather forecast by Japan

A supercomputer that occupies a warehouse in Japan could help scientists predict the weather up to 30 years in the future, reports The Telegraph. The Earth Simulator was launched in 2002 and until 2004 held the title of the world's most powerful computer. It will be used "to analyse long-term trends using data such as atmospheric pressure, global air and sea temperatures, crust movements and currents".
