Digital imaging meets ancient masterpiece…

The National Gallery in London has been using imaging technology from HP in its research on world famous art and more recently to boost the commercial side of the business.

silicon.com went along to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square to have a look at work behind the scenes as well as what tech visitors can expect to see.

This shows two paintings believed to have been commissioned at the same time as Leonardo Da Vinci's Virgin of the Rocks but which researchers think were painted by other artists.
