The Sky partnership is the latest move in the BBC's strategy to take the iPlayer service to new audiences.

After initially only being available as a download service on Windows XP, iPlayer is now available on Mac and Linux as a streaming service with a download version also in the pipeline.

iPlayer is also available on Virgin Media, Apple's iPod and iPhone, the Nintendo Wii, Nokia's N96 smart phone and a range of other portable devices.
