R is for Roaming

Roaming is the ability to use your mobile phone outside your home country by accessing host networks in your location. Being able to use your mobile abroad is a great benefit when on holiday but the ability for workers to use mobile devices when on foreign business trips is also extremely useful.

The way roaming generally works is that foreign networks have agreements between them to allow users from outside the home network to use their services. So, when a mobile device from an affiliated network is detected, it will be allowed onto the host network.
