NEWS Unisys has more than doubled its profits for the second quarter of 1998. Net income for the quarter was $90m (£55m), up from $41m (£25m) the year before, with revenue up 9 per cent to $1.73bn (£1bn) from $1.59bn (£0.97bn) a year ago. The supercomputing and services company is also intending to make $160m (£98m) of debt repayments with the aim of reaching the target of $1bn (£0.6bn) debt reduction by October 1998.
