NEWS Acer has become the latest company to warn of reduced profits because of the economic crisis in Asia. The manufacturer sells about 40 per cent of its machines in Asia, and files accounts in Taiwanese dollars - now heavily devalued against the US dollar. The company is staking its future on the XC - a cheap scaled-down PC designed for specific tasks.
