In brief: IBM unveils latest AS/400 server

NEWS IBM has announced its revamped AS/400e line which will include a 64bit processor called Northstar. The new range will come pre-installed with Baan and Infinium ERP packages, in addition to the ERP software already available on AS/400. IBM claims the upper end of the range will now give IT managers twice the base memory. Other features include a friendlier, more NT-like user interface and upgraded e-business and Web server applications. The release date is set for 12 September.
