NEWS Intel's Xeon processors will underpin server launches from Compaq, Gateway and IBM. The IBM Netfinity and the Compaq Proliant 5500 will both be able to accommodate up to four Xeon chips. IBM's server, with two processors and 384MB of memory will cost around $20,000. Gateway will be using their ALR 9200 to host the chip, with pricing around $8,000 for a 400MHz Xeon processor and 512K of cache. Dell has yet to make an announcement but is expected to follow suit.
