NEWS Dell has received the go ahead from the Brazilian government to build a $108.5m factory in Porto Alegre in the south of the country. The 123-acre facility will manufacture, sell, service and support hardware systems from April 1999. Dell says it will create 250 local jobs. Dell's eighth plant worldwide is intended to serve customers in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
