Seagate backs disaster recovery campaign

NEWS Seagate Sofware is the latest storage vendor to put its weight behind the 'Prove it' initiative designed to increase awareness of disaster recovery among business executives. The campaign was launched on 1 February, and more than 20 companies have joined already - including Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Quantum. Its aim is to educate businesses of all sizes about how to set up the most effective disaster recovery plan. A web site at http://www.dlttape.com/proveit has been set up to allow IT managers to test their existing plans and get advice on how to improve them. But Seagate claim the main aim is to increase awareness among non-IT executives of the importance of investing in a disaster recovery plan.
