NEWS Compaq continues to suffer from the repercussions of its poor first quarter results, with the news today that its senior vice president of sales and marketing, Michael Heil, has resigned. The move comes as part of continued restructuring at the hardware giant. The company also plans to scrap its global unit and will instead split sales along regional lines - North America, EMEA and Asia, Australia and Latin America. According to a company email sent to employees and obtained by the Wall Street Journal, the changes "will accelerate our decision making and bring us even closer to our customers". Michael Heil will move to CommcoTec Corp as chief executive and president.
