NEWS UK association, NetProject, has set up a forum to promote the enterprise use of open source software and Linux. NetProject's director, Eddie Bleasdale, explained that the forum will fill a gap in the discussion of open source. "We need a group that's looking at deployment in corporates," he said. A series of seminars are being planned to discuss issues including thin client computing, Linux developments like the Gnome project, and the use of open source for mission critical computing. The first workshop will take place on 15 July, covering personal computing strategies and technologies. Membership will cost £5000 per year, and more information is available at www.netproject.co.uk.
