NEWS Novell released third quarter results this week showing an 20 per cent increase in revenue up to $327m from $272m for the same period last year. The network management software company said its strong sales were due to demand for NetWare server software including Novell Directory Services (NDS). Net income reached $49m, up from $27m for Q3 last year. Chairman and CEO, Eric Schmidt, said another important product line for the company was its security management software, with sales of Novell Single Sign-on adding to the results. Single Sign-on prevents users having to sign on individually every time they want to access different applications on the network.
