NEWS The latest server on offer from IBM is a Windows-based system that pre-empts an operating system (OS) crash. Once detected, it will be automatically reset the system to avoid downtime. Called the Netfinity 5600, it uses Big Blue's Rejuvenation software to provide advance OS monitoring to prevent system failure. The system works by scheduling a reset when it detects a critical point; this has the effect of clearing the memory and preventing a system failure.
