NEWS IBM is offering a guarantee to users running PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications on its RS/6000 servers with AIX operating system. The computing giant has promised its systems will meet pre-determined ERP workload expectations, or it will offer free upgrades to processors, memory or both until the acceptable performance is achieved. IBM's latest RS/6000 S80 server is powered by up to 24 processors, and Big Blue has trumpeted its success in recent PeopleSoft benchmark tests versus hardware from rivals Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems. The guaranteed RS/6000 and PeopleSoft combination is available from IBM Business Partners.
