NEWS VA Linux has set up an online repository of open source programs to boost the non-commercial distribution of software. Sourceforge.net launches today with over 700 programs for public use. Developers can freely download code for archiving, bug tracking, chat forums, site hosting and Web-based administration. The majority of programs so far are for Linux platforms but open source code for Windows, Macintosh and PalmOS is also available. For more information see http://sourceforge.net .
