NEWS The European market for Storage Area Networks (SANs) is set to grow from $1.92bn last year to $64.11bn in 2006, as knowledge management projects lead to an increase in data storage equipment, according Frost & Sullivan. The consultancy said: "Data has been growing exceptionally rapidly over the past few years, and with the load of information being generated from enterprise resource planning applications, customer relationship management, data warehousing, business intelligence and ecommerce the level of data is set to be pushed sky-high." However, Frost & Sullivan warned different approaches by vendors to the SAN market have confused customers and vendors, highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships and alliances.
