IT managers plead for sedentary lifestyles

NEWS IT managers are spending too much time attending to PC problems physically instead of dealing with problems remotely, according to a survey by Vector Networks. The network management company surveyed 500 IT managers and found that almost two-thirds of IT departments they spoke to could save up to 34.5 working days per year if support visits to remote sites were reduced by 50 per cent. According to 39 per cent of respondents, the main problem is time wasted dealing with computers that are up to half a kilometre away.
